Darcy E. Stockwell


Henderson — Darcy E. Stockwell, 85, Harborview Apts., Henderson, passed away Sunday December 2nd at the Samaritan Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 pm Wednesday, December 5th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Jane Eastham from the Henderson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Henderson Volunteer Ambulance Squad or to the Henderson Methodist Church.

Darcy was born August 2, 1927, a daughter to Frederick and Winifred Harber Ellis. She graduated from Union Academy Belleville. Darcy worked for many years at Belloff’s Department Store, the Freeway Market, Adams, was a bookkeeper at Herron’s Farm Supply in Belleville and at the Belleville Market until her retirement.

She attended the Henderson United Methodist Church and the Henderson Supper Club at the church. She married Frederick C. Stockwell April 18, 1946 in Adams. Mr. Stockwell passed away March 20, 1999.

Mrs. Stockwell is survived by three sons and their wives, James F. (Betty), Ellisburg; Stephen R. (Rockett), Mannsville; Jeffrey H. (Starr), Belleville. A daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Dominic) Spano, Watertown. 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. A brother and sister-in-law, Howard (Nancy) Abbott, Belleville. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Jack F. Abbott on June 17, 2010 and a sister Shirley in infancy.
