Two Central New York women were arrested Sunday evening on allegations that they shoplifted merchandise selling for nearly $525 at T.J. Maxx, 1283 Arsenal St., according to Watertown police.
Markeisha L. Frayer, 30, Solvay, and Quanaisha O. Underwood, 19, Syracuse, were detained overnight to await arraignment Monday in City Court on petit larceny charges.
Each woman had stolen merchandise in her purse when they were confronted as they left the store, police alleged. Ms. Frayers theft total was set at $364.94, and Ms. Underwood had items priced at a total of $159.97, police said. Their focus was clothing items, police said.
