POTSDAM Clarkson freshman Ashley Loggins was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for womens basketball on Monday.
Loggins, a 5-foot-10 forward, scored a team-high 19 points in a loss to Elmira and provided 12 points in a win over SUNY Potsdam. She averaged 7.5 rebounds and shot just under 50 percent (13-for-28) in the two games.
Loggins ranks fourth in the league in scoring with 16.6 points per game, and is third with 9.2 rebounds per game.
■ Two St. Lawrence University athletes were named to the Liberty Leagues weekly honor roll. Brady Condlin of the mens team and Kelly Legg from the womens team were each recognized.
■ SUNY Potsdams Alexander Taylor has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conferences swimmer of the week.
Taylor won three solo events at last weekends Fredonia Invitational. His 2-minute, 6.12-second finish in the 200-meter breaststroke broke his own school record, set a pool record, and an NCAA B qualifying time. He set another pool mark by finishing the 100 breaststroke in 58.7 seconds.
