MASSENA - A former volunteer treasurer for Massena Little League, Inc. has been charged with third-degree grand larceny after allegedly stealing almost $6,000 from the league from March of 2008 to Oct. of 2010.

New York State Police charged Julie A. Haas, 43, of 7 Brothers Road Wednesday afternoon.

She was arraigned in Massena Town Court before Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to court documents, Haas is accused of stealing $5,973,25 from the league’s account.

She was represented by Attorney Daniel S. Pease and waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

The case will now move to county court. A date for her next appearance has not been scheduled.
