Jefferson Community College President Carole A. McCoy was chosen to speak at Keuka Colleges midyear degree conferral.
According to a press release, the ceremony is at 1 p.m.on Sunday.
Mrs. McCoy said this is the first commencement speech she has been asked to do.
Ive known about it for a number of weeks and was very, very flattered when they asked me, she said.
She noted JCC and Keuka have a strong partnership. The four-year school offers bachelors degrees for criminal justice, nursing and social work through JCC.
The press release cites Mrs. McCoys key role in bringing bachelors degree completion programs to the north country through Keukas Accelerated Studies for Adults Program in addition to the improvements shes made at JCC through its strategic plan and growing enrollment.
