BRIER HILL – The third annual Holiday House Tour is scheduled for Dec. 9 and preparations at each of the seven homes and businesses on display are gearing up for the public eye.
Last year we had such a good time at each house we only saw half the houses, said Susan Wilson, a member of the Young Memorial Revitalization Organization.
The Revitalization Organization uses the House Tour as one of its yearly fundraisers to help continue the upkeep of the former Young Memorial Church in Brier Hill.
The old church building, built in 1906, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Our mission is to save the historical building, said Clara Warren, another member of the Revitalization Organization.
Locations along the tour include the Island View Funeral Home, Mares Wares pottery and the homes of Gloria Johnson, Mike and Patty Warren, Jeannie and Fran Colby, Wayne Latham and Clara Warren and Frank Putman.
Following the tour refreshments will be served at Langbrook Clubhouse.
Eleven baskets will be on display at the clubhouse as well, to be raffled off.
Patty Warren of the Revitalization Organization added that light refreshments will be available at many of the locations along the route of the tour.
Most houses will have cookies or something out, she said.
Tickets are $15 each and can be bought at the Morristown Library or by calling 323-2736 or 323-1777.
Tickets will also be available at each of the homes on the route.
The tour is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m.
Refreshments will be served at the Langbrook Clubhouse at 5 p.m.
