A Gouverneur man was acquitted Thursday of all charges stemming from a woman’s claims that he held her against her will and had forcible sexual contact with her in 2010.

A Jefferson County Court jury deliberated just over an hour following two days of testimony before determining that Jeremiah J. Bush, 28, was not guilty of first-degree sex abuse, forcible touching and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

Mr. Bush had been charged in a grand jury indictment unsealed in March with subjecting the then-22-year-old female to forcible sexual contact on Oct. 17, 2010, in the town of Antwerp and forcing her to remain with him in his vehicle against her will. Mr. Bush was defended by Watertown attorney Jill F. Spielmann.
