MASSENA - The Massena Central School Board of Education violated no rules by holding what they called a nonpublic private meeting with its attorney at the start of the boards meeting Thursday evening, according to the states Committee on Open Government Executive Director Robert J. Freeman.
They did it exactly right, Mr. Freeman said, noting there are few exemptions to the states Open Meetings Law, but seeking advice from the boards or districts attorney is one of them.
That falls under attorney client privilege, he said.
