LAFARGEVILLE — Francis W. Babcock, 37, of 21637 Route 411, was arrested early Monday by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on allegations that he struck his wife in front of her 13-year-old daughter.

He is charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Brownville Town Justice Richard M. Parker set bail at $250, sending him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown.

His wife, Christina, 34, was struck in the face shortly before 3 a.m. Monday during a domestic fight, deputies said.
