BOSTON Kaitlin Myers and Ashley Merritt each scored 12 points to lead a balanced effort as SUNY Canton cruised past Fisher College, 72-12 on Sunday in a nonconference womens basketball game.
In all, the Kangaroos placed 11 players in the scoring column to improve to 5-4.
Corrine Riegel and Karyss Terrance had nine and eight rebounds, respectively, for SUNY Canton, and Riegel and Megan Morrow each had four assists.
SUNY DELHI 64, JEFFERSON CC 47
Tanya Barnes scored a game-high 17 points to pace the Broncos to a Region III victory in Delhi.
Mariah Coville added 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for SUNY Delhi (7-5), and Brianne Lambert scored 12 points.
Jasmine Canady scored 14 points and totaled nine steals to lead the Cannoneers (4-8). Morgan Kiernan chipped in with 11 points for JCC, and Tapulei Vaveao contributed 10 points.
MENS BASKETBALL
SUNY DELHI 61, JEFFERSON CC 41
Sean Scott scored 18 points and added six steals to lead the nationally-ranked No. 2 Broncos to a Region 3 victory over the Cannoneers at Delhi.
Stefan Bock provided 14 points and five steals for SUNY Delhi (13-1).
Ryan Tomlin led Jefferson Community College (5-7 overall, 4-6 Region 3) with 17 points and eight rebounds.
FISHER COLLEGE 71, SUNY CANTON 69
Ryan McCorkle scored 24 points as the Falcons held off the Kangaroos in a nonconference game in Boston.
Tyler Shular added 12 points for Fisher College (5-7).
Khalid Vaughn scored a game-high 26 points for SUNY Canton (2-6), and Scott Dixon contributed 12 points.
