BRASHER FALLS - The St. Lawrence Central boys hockey team saw a fast start fade into a 4-2 loss to OFA in NAC Division II action from the Tri-Town Arena on Monday.
Eric Lynch got the Larries on the board just 2:08 into their NAC season opener when he one-timed a pass from Devon Euto into the back of the net from the top of the right face-off circle.
The Blue Devils countered with the next three goals, pulling even at the 13:32 mark of the first period when Brandon Mullin finished off a play set up by Drew Costigan. Jake Garrison put OFA ahead at 4:57 of the second period on a play set up by Costigan and Burke Comeau. Jon Tayler made it 3-1 at the 9:20 mark when he converted on a two-on-one pass from Mullin.
The Larries pulled back to within one just 2:25 into the final frame when Ian Lynch connected from Parker Meashaw but Muller put the game out of reach at the 2:25 mark assisted by Tayler.
David Prudhomme turned aside 25 shots backstopping the win as OFA improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. Nate McLauglin recorded 30 saves for the Larries (1-1), who return to action Wednesday with a non-league game on the road against Lake Placid at the 1932 rink.
