A Watertown man on Saturday was accused of pushing his wife while she was holding their 8-month-old child.

City police charged Garnet R. Lyon, 25, of 750 Lansing St., with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, answerable in City Court.

Police said that Mr. Lyon pushed Katherine A. Lyon in the face, causing bruising to her left eye and forehead, and that he had a .22-caliber handgun at the residence without a state pistol permit.
