NORFOLK -The OFA Girls recorded their second straight win while the Devil Boys rebounded for their first loss in a nondivision basketball doubleheader at Norwood-Norfolk on Monday.
The 2-1 Lady Devils, who visit Carthage tonight and host Potsdam on Friday, posted a 62-32 win while the 3-1 Devil Boys, who visit Potsdam Thursday, cruised to an 85-24 win over the Flyers for the NAC North.
OFA 62 - N-N 32: Coach Mark Henry afforded his reserves plenty of playing time and six players scored eight points or more. Colin Ross scored a game-high 16 points followed by Matt Piercey (3 assists) who buried four threes scoring 14 points, Breton LaRose and Tyler Knowlton (3 3s, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) each scored 13 points and Jack Manke netted nine points with seven rebounds.
Seth Pinkerton (6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals) scored eight points and Kinnon LaRose grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots. Garret Waite and Kyle Martens led N-N with seven and five points.
OFA (62) -N-N (32): Coach Lynn Blevins squad bolted out to a 27-7 lead and utilized its entire lineup in different combinations.
We got a look at some different things tonight and we will have to be ready for Carthage. They are very quick, said Coach Blevins.
We played hard tonight and so did Norwood-Norfolk.
The Devils received a bounty of interior production from Felicia Barr who netted 16 points and Susie Morrow who delivered 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Courtney Sherwin tallied nine points and Riley Luckie added seven points with four steals. Meg Dodge netted a pair of threes scoring six points.
Carlea Weavers 13 points led the Flyers and Kadence Hunkins added eight.
