BRASHER FALLS - The schedule allowed the OFA Hockey team with the opportunity to rebound from a Saturday nonleague loss to Plattsburgh High School and secure a second straight NAC Division 2 road win on Monday.
The Devils capitalized by recording a 4-2 victory at St. Lawrence Central to gain momentum for a key division game against Norwood-Norfolk at home on Friday (6:30 p.m. start).
It was a good road win tonight. Defensively we played well with Gian Rufa, Joe Giglio, Burke Comeau and David Middlemiss and we had some young guys do a very good job in Austin Morley-Sloan, Andrew Putman and Nolan Rufa, said OFA Coach Jon Frederick.
David Prudhomme had another solid game in goal and Brandon Mullin scored two highlight reel goals. Jon Tayler had a goal and an assist tonight which was good to see because he has been out with an injury.
Mullin and Drew Costian sparked the Devils (2-0 NAC, 2-1) to a 3-1 lead after two periods. Mullin scored the first goal from Costigan and set up Taylor for a tally which gave the locals a 3-1 lead. Costigan combined with Comeau to set up Garrison for a second period tally.
Mullin scored in the third period with Tayler assisting and Prudhomme stopped 25 shots in goal. Eric and Ian Lynch scored for the Larries (0-1 NAC, 1-1) off assists from Devin Euto and Parker Meashaw in support of a 30-save effort by Nate McLaughlin.
