PHILADELPHIA Alex Mooney recorded 10 kills and seven aces as the South Jefferson volleyball team gained a 30-28, 25-16, 21-25, 25-11 Frontier League interdivision victory over host Indian River on Monday.
Hannah Mullin supplied seven kills and five aces, while Jackie Decker distributed 15 assists, and Katie Elmer added eight kills for the Spartans (4-1 overall, 3-1 league).
For Indian River, Asia Bliss finished with 12 kills, two aces and three blocks. Ingrid Langdalen supplied nine kills, three aces, and two blocks, and Cameo Holmes handed out eight assists for the Warriors (0-4).
CARTHAGE 3, APW 2
Carly Sullivan generated 13 assists and three digs as the Comets rallied to stay unbeaten by defeating the Rebels 25-23, 21-25, 18-25, 25-22, 27-25 during interdivision play at Parish.
Cassie Birth contributed nine kills, six digs and two assists, and Courtney Cunningham had eight kills and 11 digs for Carthage (5-0, 4-0).
Emily Radley paced Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (3-3, 1-3) with 12 digs and 10 assists. Rhiannon Wheeler supplied 14 assists and five digs.
SOUTH LEWIS 3, THOUSAND ISLANDS 2
Jayne Strigle finished with 13 service points, five aces and 19 digs to help lift the Falcons to a 14-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-8, 25-22 C Division win at Clayton.
Chloe Stinebrickner registered 12 points, eight aces and 16 assists, and Gabrielle Hartley contributed 13 points, four aces, eight kills and three digs for South Lewis (2-2).
For the Vikings, Chloe Mason accounted for seven kills and four blocks, and Chelsea Smith tallied 16 points. Ally Cornaire supplied 11 assists and three digs, and Megan Ferguson hit eight kills for Thousand Islands (1-4).
SOUTH JEFFERSON 107, CARTHAGE 73
Addison Roberts captured the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races and contributed to a pair of first-place relays to lead the Spartans to a Frontier League A Division victory at Carthage.
Don Cean won the 200 and 500 free, and Taylor Lucas took the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke for South Jefferson (2-1).
COPENHAGEN 41, APW/PULASKI 33
Breven Jacobs (126 pounds) and Travis Clarke (132) claimed pinfall victories in under a minute as the Golden Knights beat APW/Pulaski in an interdivision meet in Copenhagen.
Connor Carroll (99), Wyatt Lyndaker (160) and Najib Quinones (182) also won by pin for Copenhagen (2-4, 1-1). Matt Schweinsburg won via technical fall.
Colin VanBuren (138) and Josh LaRock (195) scored pins for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown/Pulaski (2-10, 0-3).
PULASKI 62, GENERAL BROWN 61
Ronnie Williams sank a layup and a free throw with .9 seconds remaining to lift the Blue Devils to a nonleague victory over the Lions at Pulaski.
James Carnes connected for 16 points, while Williams finished with 13, and Cody Mosher added 11 points for Pulaski (2-1).
Joe Simoneau scored a game-high 17 points for General Brown, which trailed 33-24 at halftime..
Rob Pickeral scored 14 points, and Cole Johnson finished with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and seven steals for General Brown (0-5).
