Madee Derouchie tied the game with 2:12 left in the period assisted by Paige DeBeer.

Orosz, who had been stopped twice before in the third period on partial breakaway attempts by SLC netminder Steph Peets, controlled a loose puck deep in the Canton zone and went end-to-end to score the eventual game-winning goal on a breakaway with 3:51 left in regulation. She went on to seal the win and complete her hattrick with an empty-net goal set up by Mackenzie Comeau with just 15 seconds remaining.

Peets finished with 28 saves for SLC while Elizabeth Burke blocked 11 shots for Canton.

Beekmantown 2, Potsdam 1: In an early season matchup of unbeatens at Pine Street Arena, Regan Matott connected for an unassisted power play goal with 4:27 left in regulation to lift the visiting Eagles to the win.

Lauren O’Connor opened the scoring in the first period for Beekmantown off an assist from Matott but the Lady Sandstoners pulled even just 4:32 into the second when Megan Plumb finished off a play set up by Megan Stevenson.
