The OFA Boys Indoor Track-Field team will be looking for rite of succession to take place in the field events as it opens a new season on Friday night at the St. Lawrence Universitys Newell Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils must replace a group seniors who ranked among the best in program history and consistently delivered a bonanza of points in the jumping events.
But Coach John Tebo looks for the Blue Devils to remain very competitive in the season ahead.
Our strengths again will be in the field, we have some very good young jumpers. The distance guys have been working with Chris McRoberts and doing very well. Dr. Chris LaFlair is working once again with the throwers and we have five strong throwers all young guys, said Tebo. It will be tough to replace the scoring of last years seniors but I think we have a good chance of challenging all the schools every week.
The Devil coaches are working with 29 varsity performers and 12 modified athletes.
Forming the veteran leadership corps for the Devils will be: Alex Wood, Seth Tebo, Colin Sovie, Nick Vielhauer and Seth Montpelier and Joe Grizzuto in the distance and middle distance events and Jacob Sias and Taylor Bouchard in the sprints and jumps.
