WATERTOWN — Rita L. Gowan, 64, of LeRay Street died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Born March 30, 1948 in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clesson and the late Ruth Secord Bush, and graduated from Indian River Central School in 1966.

She worked as an insurance underwriter for several businesses in the Watertown area, including New York Casualty and North Country Cooperative.

Mrs. Gowan was a fifty year member of the Antwerp American Legion Auxiliary, an avid NY Yankee and Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Shaw, Antwerp; a brother, C. Douglas Bush, Henderson, NV; two nieces; four nephews; and several cousins.

There will be no services. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
