MASSENA - The Massena Central varsity boys basketball team relayed a 36-17 halftime lead into a 59-32 NAC interdivisional win at home over West Division hopeful Heuvelton on Friday.
Zack Rusaw worked the paint for 24 points to pace the Raiders (5-4). Joey LaBelle had three three-pointers in a 13-point outing. Xavier Viskovich added six points followed by Zevon Viskovich with five, Zach Fregoe with four, Tyler Haas with three and David Phillips with two. Logan Deshane and Rhoades Tarbell finished with one point each.
Mike Guardino led the Bulldogs with seven points. Dedrick Johnson added seven. Jack Tennant, Cody Holland, Brandon Power and Riley Pierce all chipped in two.
Massena played at Salmon River next Tuesday.
In other NAC interdivisional boys basketball encounters on Friday, St. Regis Falls stopped St. Lawrence Central 58-38 and Chateaugay turned back Madrid-Waddington 56-47 while Brushton-Moira dropped North Division rival Norwood-Norfolk 53-21. Lisbon outscored Northern Adirondack Central in the only non-league contest of the night.
SRF 58, SLC 38: At St. Regis Falls, Caleb Green and Brandon Votra tossed through 21 points as the Saints steadily overcame a 13-10 first-quarter deficit for their 10th straight win to start the season. Tyler Daggett and Corey Labounty chipped in seven points apiece.
Josh White paced the Larries (2-6) with 14 points followed by Zane Ramsdell with 14 and Cody Meacham with six. Corey Labarge added three. Shane Fuetes, Tyler Savage and Jesse Greer each netted two.
Chateaugay 56, M-W 47: In Chateaugay, Devon Barnes struck for 15 points and Noah Bowes connected for another 13 to anchor the win. Seth Young finished with nine.
Greg Thompson and Colin OBryan led M-W with 12 points apiece. Richard Wright followed with eight.
B-M 53, N-N 21: In Brushton, Alex Burnett netted 12 points and Loren Traynor hit for another 10 as the host Panthers built a commanding 32-13 lead by halftime.
Kyle Martens anchored the Flyer offense with 10 points. Brandon Sawyer added six followed by Cody Rust with three while Garrett Waite and Kyle Steenberg each netted a free throw.
Lisbon 38, NAC 28: Adam Felt exploded for 22 of Lisbons 38 points as the 5-4 Knights closed out NAC 12-3 in the fourth. Ryan Buckley scored four, Jake Putney, Jimmy Robinson, and Matt Williard each added three for the winners. Berger scored 10 for NAC.
