MASSENA - Despite rumors that they were going out of business or moving to another shopping plaza, the owners of C&M Sales said Friday they’re not going anywhere until later this spring when they move into a larger storefront at the St. Lawrence Centre mall.

“We’re still here,” said Chuck Adams, who runs the store with his wife Mary.

The store is now located adjacent to Sears after previously being housed at the former Hackett’s store location near JC Penney’s. The C & M Sales move is being made to accommodate the new Shoe Dept. Encore! store opening in that space later this winter.

Once Shoe Dept.’s move is complete, Mr. Adams said they will be on the move again, this time into the former Shoe Dept. location.

“It’s going to be bigger than this one, he said, adding the retail space will more than double from the 3,300 square feet they have now.

“We’re hoping it’s going to be a super store,” he said, adding the new store will give them more space for furniture and allow them to expand their offerings.

“We’re going to be doing some pretty cool stuff when we get into that other store,” Mr. Adams said, adding that among the new offerings will be Phenomenal Fudge, once again giving mall shoppers a place to purchase fudge.

“It’s good stuff,” he said. “It’s made in Vermont with real cream and butter.”

Mr. Adams said he and his wife will be taking a week off to spend some time at their timeshare in Florida, but the trip won’t be strictly vacation, as they’ll be returning with plenty of new inventory for the store.

“I’ve got 25 cases of sports bags sitting down there,” he said. “We’ll be bringing those back and selling them cheap. We want to make a statement when we open up the new store.”

Mr. Adams said he’s expecting the store, which sells antiques, Amish furniture, guitars, collectibles, signs and more, to open in its new location sometime around March 1.

“We buy, we sell, we trade and none of that is going to change,” he said, adding custom orders are also available.

“We can get a lot of stuff, if someone wants something special,” he said.
