SCHENECTADY — The Jefferson Community College men’s basketball team let an eight-point halftime lead slip away and fell in their second-semester Region 3 debut, 86-70 to Schenectady County Community College on Sunday.

Derrick Williams scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for JCC (5-8 overall, 3-6 conference). Ryan Tomlin added 22 points.

Reese Jackson paced Schenectady with 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Terrance Blanchard contributed 23 points.

MAINE PRESQUE ISLE 61, SUNY CANTON 58

Michael Warner scored 17 points to lead Maine Presque Isle to a 61-58 win over host SUNY Canton.

Patrick Manifold also scored 16 points for MPI (7-7). Khalid Vaughn had 18 points, Scott Bartenstein 11 and Ryan Lamica 11 for the Roos (3-9).

RAMAPO 94, SUNY POTSDAM 80

Tenth-ranked Ramapo dominated SUNY Potsdam at the foul line 29-12 en route to a nonconference victory in Mahwah, N.J.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Schenectady CCC 86, Jefferson CC 70

Jordan Funk scored 15 points to pace host Schenectady to a Region 3 win. Jasmine Canady led JCC (4-8) with 21 points, while Morgan Kiernan had 13 points and nine rebounds.
