Monroe attempted to leave the store with merchandise hidden in her clothing. The merchandise consisted of batteries and various personal grooming products valued at $316.93. She was released on an appearance ticket for Jan. 17 in Potsdam Town Court.

It was Monroe’s third petit larceny arrest over the past two weeks.

Monroe was informed by store staff that she was not welcome to return, troopers said. Three days later, however, she allegedly went back to the market and tried to leave without paying for two bottles of soda.

The second incident earned her a second petit-larceny charge, as well as one count of third-degree criminal trespassing, a class B misdemeanor.
