POTSDAM - A fourth-quarter comeback against undefeated Franklin Academy came up short for the Potsdam Central varsity boys basketball team on Friday but coach Brooks Bigwarfe was impressed with his club just the same.

“We were down by 16 points in the second half and we actually battled back to go ahead by one with a little over three minutes left. For us to be able to do that against a team like Malone really shows how far this team has come since the start of the season,” noted Bigwarfe after the Huskies regrouped to claim a 57-53 NAC Central Division decision over the Sandstoners.

“Our team is really starting to find its identity and showed a lot of character tonight. Hopefully this game gives us even more confidence going forward,” Bigwarfe added.

Only four Potsdam players made their way onto the scoresheet led by senior Konnor Bigwarfe with 17 points. Juniors Shawn Clark and Will Coleman chipped in 14 points apiece while senior Owen Mitchell accounted for the other eight.
