TUPPER LAKE A federal judge on Monday sentenced a Tupper Lake man to six years of prison time for possessing child pornography.
James L. Tabolt Jr., 40, also will be subject to 15 years of post-release federal probation and will be required to register with the state as a sex offender, according to the sentence handed down in U.S. District Court in Albany.
Tabolt pleaded guilty before Senior U.S. District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy in September to possessing more than 1,300 pornographic images of children on a home computer between June 2010 and February 2011.
Tabolt was arrested following an investigation detected images of child pornography originating from an internet protocol address in the Tupper Lake area, later tracked to a computer in his home.
