WORTH A man was flown by Lifenet helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, after he was injured Saturday afternoon in a snowmobile accident at a trail intersecting with Mile Strip Road in the town of Worth, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department.
John P. Stephens, 46, Ilion, suffered possible neck injuries, deputies said. No information was available about Mr. Stephens from the hospital.
Deputies said Mr. Stephens was proceeding west on Horace Forward Truck Trail behind a snow rig operated by Matthew S. Stephens, 39, Frankfort, who stopped suddenly to make a turn. John Stephens was unable to stop to avoid a collision, and both men were ejected from their machines, deputies said. No summonses were issued.
