Jesse A. Young, 30, of 24480 Route 12, Apt. 123, was arrested by Watertown police Sunday afternoon on a felony charge of first-degree criminal contempt for allegedly defying refrain from specifications in a womans Family Court order of protection.
He is also cited with harassment, and awaited arraignment Monday in Watertown City Court.
Police said his arrest followed an incident at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at 309 N. Rutland St., where he allegedly threw a 13-pound bag at Kylie M. Rivers, 25, of 1620 Huntington St., while she was getting into a vehicle. The bag hit the vehicle, near her, police said.
The contempt charge is a felony because Mr. Young was convicted of second-degree contempt in August 2011, according to city police, and again in December, when he was sentenced in Jefferson County Court to three years probation.
