Heuvelton Stays Two Game Back In West; LCS, H-D, M-W Prevail


The Heuvelton Girls Basketball team stayed two games back of unbeaten Hammond in the NAC West Division race with second half comeback win over Harrisville 48-39 on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Lisbon evened its overall mark to 6-6 with a win against Edwards-Knox 49-26 while Hermon-DeKalb evened its NAC West mark to 4-4, 5-5 overall with a commanding 49-16 win at Morristown.

In NAC North-East divisional play, Madrid-Waddington rolled past Colton-Pierrepont 441-12.

Heuvelton 48, Harrisville 39: Down 27-25 at halftime, the Bulldogs (9-3, 7-2 NAC West) used a 16-6 third quarter advantage against Harrisville (6-6, 5-4 NAC West).

“Harrisville was much improved the second time around,” said Heuvelton coach Rob Power.

“The difference was our bench tonight which logged some big minutes. Offensively, they might have not showed on the scoresheet but they did a great job with our defense,” said Power speaking of Macy Richardson, Abbey Basford and Rachel Thornhill,

Maddie St. Pierre paced the Bulldogs with 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists and 11-for-14 from the foulline. Logan Tallman hit four threes in a 15 point, three steal, and three block effort. Alexis Weidner chipped in nine points, nine steals, three rebounds and three assists. Richardson had five rebounds and two points off the bench.

Kathleen Coloney scored 14 points for Harrisville and Chelsea Pierce added 11 points.

Lisbon 49, E-K 26: The Golden Knights (6-6, 4-5 NAC West) broke away with a 17-7 third quarter against E-K (1-9, 1-7 NAC West). Emily Dishaw supplied 20 points including three threes while Beth Crowley added 10 points. Jackie Sovie delivered seven points while Gabby Walker and Alex Amo each scored six.

“Emily (Dishaw) just took over for us,” said LCS coach Dickie Marcellus.

Jadiylnn Bullock scored seven and Katie Smith tallied six for E-K.

H-D 48, Morristown 16: Clarisa Davis hit five three’s enroute to a 19 point evening for the visiting Demons (5-5, 4-4 NAC West). Morgan Stott added 10 points while Bridget Rust, Courtney Harrington, and Kasey O’Donnell each added six.

Jordyn Tulley scored seven for Morristown. Bailey Holmes added four while Erica Baldwin and Karissa Bertrand followed with three and two.

M-W 41, C-P 12: The Lady Yellowjackets (9-1, 5-0 NAC North) expanded a 6-3 first quarter lead to 22-9 at halftime in the victory over the host Lady Colts (3-8, 2-4 NAC East). Olivia Parmeter generated 13 points including two threes while Katie Marcellus added 12 points for M-W. Tess Knight provided nine points and six steals while Jenna King added 11 boards, five blocks and three points. Shelby Kendall scored four points while Desiree Pryce grabbed eight boards.

Morgan Doyle scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds for C-P (3-8, 2-4). Andrea Aldous collected six boards, three steals and two assists.

Chateaugay 47, Potsdam 41: Courtney Boyea and Makayla Fleury scored 10 points each while Fleury grabbed 13 rebounds.

Shanielle Chambers and Courtney Ditullio led Potsdam (2-8) with 13 and nine points, respectively and Breanne Sapp had eight.
