SACKETS HARBOR A new bus is on the schools wish list.
At the district Board of Education meeting, board members approved that a proposition to purchase a 66-passenger diesel school bus would appear at the May annual meeting and budget vote.
Superintendent Frederick E. Hall Jr. said the nine buses in the districts fleet are on a nine -year rotation.
We came under last years purchase price with $109,000, he reported to the board.
The board also approved selling a bus that is valued at $14,500. The sale will go toward buying the new bus.
Its the last Caterpillar engine to go out of our fleet, Mr. Hall said.
In other business Tuesday, the board accepted the retirements of kindergarten teacher Roseanne Danega and library aide Amy Del Pret and accepted a $250 donation from the Watertown Evening Rotary for the backpack program.
