OGDENSBURG The Frederic Remington Art Museum is gearing up for its 16th annual middle and high school art exhibit.
The exhibit will be featured in the Richard E. Winter Gallery on the second floor of the historic building, with an opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit will run until Feb. 23.
Its a wonderful exhibit featuring middle and high school-level artwork from a variety of schools around the county, said Laura A. Foster, museum curator.
Students from Ogdensburg Free Academy and Clifton-Fine, Colton-Pierrepont, Lisbon, Massena, Morristown, Parishville-Hopkinton and Potsdam central schools will have artwork on display, Mrs. Foster said.
In addition to the public school work, creations from the Frederic Remington Home School art program will be featured in the gallery.
This is a terrific way to support and celebrate the participation in art in the schools, Mrs. Foster said.
There will be roughly four pieces of art submitted by each school.
It brings families into the museum that have never been here, she said.
