0GDENSBURG — At last.

City resident Charles E. Lake will belatedly receive the Bronze Star today for his Army service in the Korean War in 1950.

Mr. Lake, 81, of 1022 Congress St., will be at Ogdensburg City Hall at noon to receive the medal from Rep. William L. Owens, D-Plattsburgh.

He was due to receive the honor upon his discharge in 1950, but lost service records and bureaucratic delays kept him from getting it until the Army notified him in November.

The veteran served as an infantryman in the Army’s 21st Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 24th Division, Company K.
