ADAMS Steven E. Buckingham, 41, of 18132 Jefferson Court, Adams Center, was being held Thursday on $500 bail in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building after he attempted to avoid arrest Wednesday afternoon, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department.
Mr. Buckingham was arraigned before Adams Town Justice Donald B. Shaw on charges of third-degree unlawfully fleeing police in a vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal impersonation, unlawful possession of marijuana and multiple traffic counts.
Deputies said that after he was halted on Interstate 81 in the town of Adams shortly before 1 p.m., they determined he is wanted in Syracuse on warrants. He sped away from the traffic stop, deputies said, but he was later arrested at his residence.
