LOUISVILLE – The St. Lawrence County River Agency plans to make approximately $60,000 in repairs to its two buildings located in the Massena Industrial Park.
Both buildings, located at 12 Commerce Dr., were acquired at the same time in late 2011.
The buildings were unoccupied for a number of years before we acquired them, so there are some renovations and modernization investments that need to be made in the facilities, Industrial Development Agency CEO Patrick J. Kelly said Tuesday.
The repairs will include improvements to plumbing, replacement of deteriorating doors, and general utility replacements, according to River Agency board members.
The changes are aimed at making the buildings more marketable to potential investors and to increase their readiness for occupancies, Mr. Kelly said.
Approximately 29,000-square-feet are available for rent in two buildings located within the park. Fockler Industries, the only tenant, occupies 9,000-square-feet of space.
The funding was provided by a grant allocation through the Northern New York Regional Economic Development Council. Repairs will take place early this year, after a formal grant agreement is signed between the River Agency and the Economic Development Council, Mr. Kelly said.
