POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central boys hockey team skated to a 4-1 non-league win over Fayetteville-Manlius at Pine Street Arena on Friday.
Sophomore Logan Ford sparked the winning effort with back-to-back unassisted goals at 11:38 of the second period and 1:50 into the third that put the Sandstoners ahead 2-0.
Ryan Amidon pulled the visiting Hornets (8-5-1) to within one at the 6:37 mark of the third but Robbie Scott restored the two-goal advantage three minutes later off an assist from Chad Varney.
Trevor Keleher sealed the win with an empty-net goal assisted by Scott with just six seconds remaining.
Devin Crary stood tall making 24 saves for the win while Ben Napierala handled 21 of the shots he faced working the F-M crease.
The Sandstoners (8-4) return to their NAC Division schedule on Wednesday at home against Salmon River starting at 7 p.m.
The other boys hockey action involving NAC squads on Friday took place at the Brian Wade, Jr., Memorial Tournament in Ogdensburg where the host Blue Devils outlasted Saranac Lake 3-2 in overtime and McQuaid-Jesuit blanked the Islanders 6-0.
