Devils Roll Into Second Semester

POTSDAM - A week which started with a break-through against Malone ended with a break-away against Ausable Valley, on Saturday, as the OFA Boys Basketball team cruised to a 71-34 victory at SUNY Potsdam.

After securing their 10th straight win in a makeup game from the Section 10-7 Challenge, the Devils will take a 12-1 record into the second semester after a 10-day break before hosting Potsdam on Jan. 29.

“We got out and ran very well again today. The big court really suits us well,” said OFA Coach Mark Henry after Saturday’s win where the Devils, who are currently ranked 12th in the NYS Class B Poll, bested the 8-3 Patriots who own a number 9 Class C ranking.

Kinnon LaRose led a balanced OFA offense with 17 points complemented by nine rebounds and six assists and Breton LaRose continued to produce double-doubles, collecting 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Pat Cosmo followed with 12 points, Jack Manke and Matt Piercey (6 assists, 3 steals) each scored eight points and Alex Farrell added seven. Colin Ross and Mitchel Barber chipped in four and two.

John Goodnough and Shane Facteau each tallied 10 points for Ausable Valley.

The OFA JVs stayed unbeated in a 56-24 win over Ausable Valley at SUNY Potsdam. Jon Rogers and DaKota Brady each scored for 15 points for Coach Scott Sargent’s team and Tristan Moore tallied 12.
