AGGRAVATED ANIMAL ABUSE - WINTHROP - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Marvin Taylor, 42, of 10401A, Route 11, Winthrop, with a felony count of aggravated animal abuse Monday afternoon following a complaint filed by the town of Lawrence dog control officer.

Deputies said one of his dogs was observed with a chain around its neck that had become embedded in into its skin.

He was additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to provide adequate food, water and shelter after two Black Lab mixed dogs were found on the property in what police described as an emaciated condition without shelter or water.

Both dogs were surrendered to the dogfcontrol officer and brought to a local animal clinic to receive medical care.

Taylor was released on an appearance ticket for Feb. 19 in Lawrence Town Court.
