POTSDAM - All doors were locked for a short time at Canton-Potsdam Hospital early this morning following a threatening phone call from a suicidal man shortly after midnight.
A state police investigator said the call was from a former St. Lawrence County resident now living in Georgia. Investigators said there is no immediate threat at the hospital and that the case has been given to police in Georgia for further investigation.
Spokeswoman Rebecca Faber said all doors at the hospital were locked and people were screened before being allowed entrance for about a half-hour after receiving the call. The hospital remains on limited access control, which means all doors except at the main entrance and the emergency room are locked.
