The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club basketball team continued a season-long series of fast starts to remain undefeated on the Franklin CYO League season with a 62-48 victory over Bangor on Sunday at the Tom Luckie Sr. Court.
Konnor Murdock (5 rebounds, 3 steals) emerged as the primary finisher in a transition-oriented offense and scored 20 points for Coach Tom Luckie Jrs team which enjoyed a lead as large as 47-17 early in the second half.
Led by the three-point shooting of Ryan Jacques and John King (5 rebounds), Bangor made a strong fourth quarter surge.
Jacques buried three threes in a 19-point effort and King struck twice from beyond the arc in a 14-point effort.
David Tomford (14 points, 9 rebounds) and Ryan Petell (6 points, 5 rebounds) each netted a pair of threes for the OBGC.
Rudy Binion (5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals) followed with 12 points, John Morrison (6 rebounds) netted six and Alec Manke (8 rebounds) added two.
Devan Monette tallied nine points for Bangor. Eric Childs added three and Cole LaFlesh (5 rebonds, 3 steals) chipped in with two.
The prelimary game was close throughout with the OBGC Bs recording a 32-28 win led by Spencer Mayettes triple double of 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 steals. Brent Mills (5 rebounds, 6 steals) and Zach Ashley (9 steals) each scored six points and Zach Worden (5 rebounds) added three.
Vinni Molinari hit a key jumper in the closing stages of the game and deflected a three-point attempt by Bangor in the closing seconds.
Brandon Wood delivered a game-high 15 points, 11 rebounds and four steals for Bangor and Ted Childs tallied seven points. Matt Gadway (4 points) and Scott Benware (2 points) grabbed four and six rebounds.
