Five St. Lawrence University athletes were named the top performer in their respective sports last week for the Liberty League on Monday.

Women’s basketball player Kara McDuffee, men’s squash player Amr Khaled Khalifa, men’s diver Billy Moran, women’s swimmer Sammi Moffitt, and men’s indoor track-and-field runner Jake Fredericks each won honors as the top athlete of the week.

McDuffee, a sophomore, averaged 16.3 points and 8.3 rebounds a game as St. Lawrence went 3-0 last week. She added 11 assists and 10 steals.

The Saints’ Alanna Blackburn was also named rookie of the week in women’s swimming. SLU’s Vinny Maniscalco and Ella Martin won men’s and women’s indoor rookie honors, respectively. Clarkson’s Ashley Loggins won rookie of the week honors in women’s basketball.

Honor roll mentions went to Clarkson’s John Coleman (men’s basketball), and SLU’s Brady Condlin (men’s basketball), Jason Dutra (men’s swimming) and Carly Stine (women’s indoor track).
