HEUVELTON – The Heuvelton Central School Board of Education approved Michelle A. McGaw as their newest member at Wednesdays meeting.
Her appointment was passed unanimously.
Mrs. McGaw was asked to take the place of Richard Moore, who resigned last month for personal reasons, Board President Michael J. Davis said.
Mr. Davis said Mrs. McGaw will serve from now until June.
After June, Mrs. McGaws continued service on the board will be dependent on a successful election in the fall, Mr. Davis added.
Mrs. McGaw said the next five months will determine whether or not she runs to keep the seat.
This is my time to evaluate, she said.
Mrs. McGaw has three children at Heuvelton Central School, one in pre-kindergarten, a third grader and a sixth grader.
My baby is still at home, Mrs. McGaw said of her fourth child, who will likely go to Heuvelton in her turn.
Mrs. McGaw is the seventh member of the board and began her service at Wednesdays meeting immediately after being sworn in.
