POTSDAM The Potsdam hockey team scored three goals in a five-minute span of the second period and went on to defeat Salmon River 5-1 in an Northern Athletic Conference Division I game on Wednesday at the Pine Street Arena.
Trevor Keleher started the spurt with a goal at 5 minutes, 12 seconds for Potsdam (9-4 overall, 5-0 division). Logan Ford scored at 8:00 and then Robbie Scott scored two minutes later. Max Warden and Josh Locey also scored for Potsdam.
Thomas Roundpoint scored for the Shamrocks (1-11-2, 0-6-2).
CANTON 4, ISLANDERS 0
Matt Mende scored two goals and assisted on another as the Golden Bears shut out the Islanders (5-8-2, 2-7-1) in an interdivision game in Canton.
Andrew McCormick scored one goal with two assists for Canton (4-9-2, 2-3-2), and Cody Moore also scored for the Golden Bears. Cantons Johnny Stone made 18 saves.
LISBON 47, CANTON 37
Jimmy Robinson scored 16 points and was named Most Valuable Player as the Golden Knights (9-5) won their own James Darcy Memorial Tournament for a fourth straight year.
Jake Putney added 13 points for Lisbon. Scott Wight paced Canton (5-9) with 15 points.
ST. LAWRENCE 46, HAMMOND 21
Zane Ramsdell scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Larries (7-7) past Hammond in the consolation game of the James Darcy Memorial Tournament.
Ryan Proven and Nolan Martin each had six points for Hammond (5-9).
COLTON-PIERREPONT 51, SALMON RIVER 39
Ethan Knight tallied 16 points as the Colts (6-7) knocked off Salmon River in a nonleague game in Colton.
Gyle Dominy scored 13 points for Colton-Pierrepont. Josh Hynes and Sky Sunday scored 10 points for Salmon River (1-12).
MADRID-WADDINGTON 64, GOUVERNEUR 45
Greg Thompson scored 22 points for the Yellow Jackets (8-5) in a nonleague win in Madrid.
Terry Crump scored 13 points and Dillan Putney added 10 for Madrid-Waddington. Mark Horne led Gouverneur (4-9) with 18 points.
GOUVERNEUR 52, CANTON 30
Gouverneur had five victories by pin to claim an NAC match against the host Golden Bears (3-12, 3-5).
Joey Bush (113 pounds), Aaron Bush (132), Zach Ayen (138), Robert Bell (145) and Michael Mandigo (285) won by pin for the Wildcats (12-5, 7-0).
Canton got pins from Ryan Brown (106), Jacob Moose (170), Alan Clement (182) and Thomas Lumbard (195).
