Watertown police charged Melissa A. Barnwell, 34, of 409 Academy St., Apt. 4, with second-degree criminal mischief at 7:39 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Stone Street.

She is accused of causing unspecified damage to her apartment building on Wednesday. The damage was valued at more than $2,300.

She also was charged on an outstanding bench warrant issued by City Court, though the police report did not indicate why the warrant was issued.

She was held pending an appearance in City Court.
