FORT KENT, Maine Khalid Vaughn scored 15 points and Ryan Lamica added 14 points to lead a balanced effort as the SUNY Cantons mens basketball team downed University of Maine-Fort Kent, 75-66, on Sunday in a nonconference game.
Xzavier Fisher chipped in with 13 points for the Kangaroos (6-13).
Adam Bouchard and Yoshives Belizaire each scored a game-high 20 points for the Bengals (1-18).
MAINE-FORT KENT 65, SUNY CANTON 57
Jennifer Colpitts scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace the host Bengals to a nonconference win.
Brooke Harris had 15 points for Maine-Fort Kent (12-9). Joelle Percy scored 13 points to lead the Kangaroos (10-8) and Kaitlin Myers totaled 12 points and nine rebounds.
Corrine Riegel had 11 points for SUNY Canton.
SUNY CANTON 4, VERMONT CLUB 2
Freshman Karley Cree scored twice to lead the Kangaroos over the University of Vermonts club team at the Catamount Challenge in Burlington, Vt.
Freshman goalie Alyssa Altschuler made 24 saves to register the win for SUNY Canton (5-12-1). Steph Kushnir and Grace Lyon also scored for the Kangaroos.
NEUMANN 3, SUNY POTSDAM 1
Shanelle Doucette scored twice in the third period to break a tie and notched an assist to pace Neumann University in an ECAC West at Cheel Arena in Potsdam.
Shannon Donnelly made 40 saves for the Knights (6-13-1, 4-8 ECAC West). Dawna Salvarinas finished with 36 saves for the Bears (7-10-2, 3-7-1), whose lone goal was from Jenn Crawford.
CLARKSON WINS OWN INVITE
Christian Perryman won the alpine event to lead the host Golden Knights to the team title in the Clarkson Invitational at Whiteface Mountain. Perrymans 1:52.21 time helped Clarkson to a five-second victory overall in the team standings.
Sean Donohue was fourth in 1:54.88 for the Golden Knights and teammate Chris Gero was sixth (1:55.31).
The Golden Knights womens team placed fourth, led by Ashley Yoviene, who finished 12th in 2:02.41.
