Heuvelton, Lisbon, Harrisville, E-K match NAC West wins; M-W falls at St. Regis Falls


Heuvelton, Lisbon, Edwards-Knox and Harrisville all rolled to NAC West Division wins on Tuesday in boys basketball action while St. Regis Falls continues its excellent East campaign downing Madrid-Waddington 56-42.

At Heuvelton, the Bulldogs defeated Morristown 61-48 improving to 8-3 NAC West - two games back of Edwards-Knox (10-1, 13-2) 60-7 which prevailed Hammond. Lisbon (7-4 NAC West, 10-5) earned a 63-35 win over Hermon-DeKalb setting the matchup with Harrisville (9-2 NAC West, 12-3 overall) on Friday. The Pirates topped Clifton-Fine 64-34.

Heuvelton 61, Morristown 48: The Bulldogs (10-5, 8-3 NAC West) steadily pulled away from a 17-11 first quarter lead as Mike Guardino scored 15 points, Dedrick Johnson tallied 13 and Cody Holland delivered 12 points to lead the way over the visiting Rockets (5-9, 3-8 NAC West).

Chris Power and Aaron Cobb each scored eight for the winners.

Devin Dulmage tallied 12 points for Morristown while Ryan Vollmer generated 11 points. Dakota Marshall and Zach Kanaly each logged nine while Bob Simmons chipped in seven.

In the junior varsity game, Morristown won a 58-42 decision over Heuvelton. Jacob Fox paced the Rockets with 16 points while Jake VanArnam added 15. Luke King and Tristan Gilmour each logged seven.

Tyler Lytle scored eight for Heuvelton. Chris Lovely added six and Kris Bunch and Cole Piercey each chipped in five.

Lisbon 63, H-D 35: Adam Felt exploded for seven three-pointers enroute to a season high 27 points for Lisbon which jumped to a 14-3 first quarter lead and extended a 43-27 third quarter lead with a 20-8 fourth quarter run to improve to 10-5 overall, 7-4 in NAC West over the visiting Demons (3-11, 3-8 NAC West). Jimmy Robinson tallied 15 points while Ryan Buckley added 10 and Jake Putney chipped in nine.

“Adam really shot the ball extremely well and Ryan Buckley has been getting better with every game. We are definitely going to need Ryan’s scoring the rest of the way,” said LCS coach Sean Backus.

Macaulay Snell paced H-D with 13 points Cody Merritt added 10. Steve Gilbert hit a three and scored five.

St, Regis Falls 56, M-W 42: In a NAC North-East crossover, St. Regis Falls continue its breakthrough season.

Brandon Votra fired through a game-high 23 points as the Saints (15-1, 9-1) steadily overcame a 9-7 first-quarter deficit. Caleb Green struck for another 20 points.

For M-W (10-6, 5-5), Greg Thompson led the way with nine points. Richard Wright and Dylan Putney chipped in eight apiece. Maurice Rease and Colin O’Bryan each finished with six.

Harrisville 64, C-F 34: The Pirates (12-3, 9-2) took a 28-4 lead after the first quarter against the Eagles (1-14, 0-11 NAC West).

Joey Butts tallied 15 points, Jared Drethayler scored 14 points and Tim Fowler tossed in 13 points to lead the Pirates who also received nine from Justin Hartle. Chase Koster scored nine and Joe Filler added eight for C-F.

E-K over Hammond: No details available at press-time.

C-P 82, P-H 31: Patrick Martin tossed through a game-high 19 points in the winning effort. Gyle Dominy netted another 18 followed by Zach Farr with 14, Ethan Knight with 11, Bruce Avery with nine.

Ryan Snyder paced the Panthers (0-11, 0-9) with 12 points. Mike Burns chipped in eight.
