FORT DRUM Details remain limited as the military continues investigating two deaths on post in December.
The inquiry into the first death, of a 4-year-old boy Dec. 10, has not produced any information. The boy, whose name has not been released, died after being taken by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown from an on-post residence.
The post has declined to release information about the child or his family, citing a desire to protect their privacy.
In a separate incident, Sgt. Carl E. Brock died Dec. 17 at his on-post residence, operated by Fort Drum Mountain Community Homes. Sgt. Brock, 28, of Claremore, Okla., was a communications transmission systems operator with the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.
No cause of death has been listed for Sgt. Brock.
The two deaths are not connected, according to the posts public affairs office.
Responding Thursday to emails from the Times, Christopher P. Grey, spokesman for the Army Criminal Investigation Command, Quantico, Va., said investigations into the deaths are continuing.
In the past, he has said that the final findings of an autopsy and toxicology report could be weeks or months away.
