Cantons Laura Pierce, Malones Morgan Marlow and Beaver Rivers Skylar Pastor emerged as the premier performers at Saturday nights NAC Indoor Track-Field Invitational. The NAC teams were joined by a group of Section 7 teams and Clinton of Section 3.
Pierce, a Lisbon Central junior, led the 1000 (3:01.7) and 3000 (12:60) meter runs and combined with Gemma and Rebecca DelRossi and Molly McMasters to form the winning 4x400 relay team in 4:23.6 and led the Lady Bears to the team title with 123 points. The DelRossi duo also combined with Paige Hamilton and Abby Hampson to form the winning 4x800 unit in 10:32.8 and Gemma DelRossi also ran second in the 600.
Clinton took second with 72 just one point ahead of Malone. Pastor, a South Jefferson student, finished as the only individual triple medalist as she led the 55 dash (7.4), the 600 run (1:38.5) and the high jump by the tie-breaker after clearing 5 with Massenas Jacalyn Lamica.
Marlow combined with Rourke Marlow, Mike Haas and Corey Lamere for as 4:26.8 victory in the 4x800 relay and paced the 3200 (10:07) and 1600 (4:26.8) runs leading the Huskies to the team title with 109 points.
Clinton took second at 89.5 and OFA took third at 73. The OFAs third place finish was paced by a first place from the 4x400 relay unit of Taylor Richardson, Donovan Smith, Andrew Colburn and Alex Wood in 3:35.8, a 1-2 finish in the triple jump by Jake Sias (40 10) and Taylor Bouchard (38 10), second places from Sias in the 300 and Bouchard in the long jump and a fourth by Smith in the 600.
Other meet champions were: Skyler Barrier of Plattsburgh in the 55 dash 6.6, Cody Updike 8.2 and Ashlee Carper of Plattsburgh 9.4 in the 55 hurdles, Carrie Pomainville of Malone in the 1500 5:08.4, Rourk Marlow of Malone in the 600 1:27.7, Soban Ayub of Saranac 37.8 and Maddie Fortier of Tupper Lake 45.3 in the 300, Ethan Vinson of Potsdam in the 1000 2:44.7, Potsdams 4x200 relay team of Peter Clark, Stephen and Adam Lewis and ODen Robertson 1:37.7, Tupper Lakes 4x200 relay of Maddie Fortier, Hannah Klossner, Samantha Ormsby and Tess Klossner 1:56.4, Aaron Sharlow of Malone 18 10 and Liz Stuttler of Clinton 15 4.5 in the long jump, Brooke Knight of Plattsburgh in the triple jump 33 1, Paul Ford of Ausable Valley in the high jump 5 10 and Evan Bresette of Seton Catholic 42 5 and Arianna Colbert of Norwood-Norfolk 28 8 in the shot put.
