MASSENA — Helping business owners recognize possible fraud and embezzlement in their company will be the subject of a seminar Thursday morning.

The workshop will be presented by Douglas Hoffman of Dragon Benware CPAs, who has 35 years of experience with family-owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals in estate, tax and business planning.

It’s targeted toward business owners, nonprofit executive directors or responsible government members who have delegated most financial tasks to other people within their organizations. It could also apply to service clubs because of revenue-generating efforts that involve cash, such as bell jars.

The workshop will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Massena Community Center. Registration is required by contacting the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce at 769-3525 by noon Wednesday. The fee is $10 for chamber members and $20 for others.
