State police say a man and his brother were late for church Sunday afternoon, late enough to make the driver speed at 109 mph.
Andrey Komar, 24, of 288 Wealtha Ave., didnt make it to Christian Life Church in Chaumont. Instead, he was taken before Brownville Town Justice Richard M. Parker, who sent him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. Later in the day, he was released on $400 bail.
He is cited with reckless driving, fleeing a police officer with a vehicle and three counts of speeding. Police said a trooper initially saw Mr. Komars vehicle speeding on Route 12E in the town of Brownville, and followed it into Chaumont.
Mr. Komar was cited with speeds of 77 mph in a 45-mph zone, 100 mph in a 55-mph zone, and 109 mph in a 55-mph zone, according to documents presented in court at his arraignment.
