FORT DRUM Details are limited as the Army confirmed the death of a soldier on post Tuesday morning.
No information was immediately available as to the circumstances of the death or the time and place it occurred.
The soldier has not been identified. Post spokeswoman Julie A. Cupernall said information likely would not be available until 24 hours after the notification of the soldiers next of kin. She said she also would need approval from the Army Criminal Investigation Command to comment on the death.
Command spokesman Christopher P. Grey confirmed by email that the death was under investigation, and that it was the lead agency involved.
The commands investigation into the Dec. 17 death of another soldier, Sgt. Carl E. Brock, is continuing. Mr. Grey has said that the results of an autopsy and toxicology report could be weeks or months away.
