CANTON — The Canton girls basketball team overcame an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter and defeated Ogdensburg Free Academy 49-45 in overtime on Thursday to clinch its first Northern Athletic Conference Central Division championship since 1985.

Canton (14-2 overall, 10-2 division) trailed 37-26 after three quarters. Emma Rexford led Canton with 18 points and Emily Pickney scored 10 points with 10 rebounds.

Meg Dodge led OFA (12-5, 8-4) with 12 points and Riley Luckie tossed in 11.

MASSENA 60, SALMON RIVER 44

Alisha Jacobs scored 20 points to send Massena (12-7, 9-4) past the Shamrocks in a Central Division game in Fort Covington.

Marissa Manley scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Salmon River, and Steffanie Premo added 10 points.

Taylor Francis led Salmon River (13-5, 7-5) with 13 points and Abby Kelly added 12 points and eight rebounds.

POTSDAM 68, GOUVERNEUR 45

Shanielle Chambers tallied 22 points to send Potsdam (5-12, 3-9) past the Wildcats in a Central Division game in Gouverneur.

Sarah Vivlamore scored 21 points and Breanne Sapp added 14 for Potsdam. Rachel Knowlton led the Wildcats (2-14, 0-11) with 14.

TUPPER LAKE 34, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 31

Katie Stuart scored 25 points to lead Tupper Lake past the Panthers (6-10, 2-7) in a North Division game in Brushton. Stuart hit six 3-point baskets for the Lumberjacks (10-7, 5-3).

MADRID-WADDINGTON 41, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 17

Madrid-Waddington overcame an early 10-6 deficit to defeat the Panthers (2-12, 1-10) in an interdivision game in Parishville.

Bridgett Beldock led the Yellow Jackets (16-1) with 14 points.

HAMMOND 52, HEUVELTON 32

Alyssa Crosby scored 20 points and snagged 16 rebounds as Hammond (16-1, 13-0) defeated the Bulldogs in a West Division contest in Heuvelton.

Courtney Bova added 10 points for Hammond. Olivia St. Pierre paced Heuvelton (12-6, 10-4) with 13 points and Maddie St. Pierre scored 10.

CLIFTON-FINE 70, EDWARDS-KNOX 28

Hunter Hitchman’s 20 points led the Eagles past Edwards-Knox (2-15, 2-12) in a West Division game in Star Lake.

Morgan Skeldon scored 19 points, and Alexis Pomerville added 13 points for the Eagles (14-3, 10-3).

HERMON-DEKALB 52, HARRISVILLE 40

Bridget Rust scored 16 points as Hermon-DeKalb (10-7, 8-6) beat the Pirates in a West Division game in Harrisville.

Clarissa Davis and Courtney Harrington both scored 12 points for the Demons. Kathleen Coloney and Janel Swanson scored 12 points for the Pirates (8-9, 7-7).

LISBON 49, MORRISTOWN 16

Alexis Amo had 16 points to send Lisbon past the Green Rockets (0-16, 0-14) in a West Division game in Morristown. Jackie Sovie scored 12 points for the Golden Knights (7-10, 5-9).

BOYS BASKETBALL

HEUVELTON 52, HAMMOND 40

A 19-8 fourth quarter helped Heuvelton (12-6, 10-4) defeat the Red Devils in a West Division game in Hammond.

Dedrick Johnson scored 19 points and Mike Guardino added 17 for the Bulldogs.

Ryan Proven scored 12 points and Payton Frisina added 11 for Hammond (6-12, 5-9).

LISBON 49, MORRISTOWN 29

Jimmy Robinson’s 20-point effort sent the Golden Knights (12-5, 9-4) past Morristown in a West Division contest in Lisbon.

Jake Putney added 10 points for Lisbon. Devin Dulmage led the Green Rockets (6-11, 4-10) with 10 points.

CHATEAUGAY 76, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 41

Noah Bowes’s 28 points led Chateaugay (8-10, 5-6) past the Flyers in an interdivision game in Norwood.

Cody Rust led Norwood-Norfolk (2-16) with 12 points.

POTSDAM 67, GOUVERNEUR 36

Konnor Bigwarfe scored 26 points in his final regular-season home game to carry the Sandstoners (12-5, 7-5) past Gouverneur in a Central Division game in Potsdam.

Will Coleman scored 16 points and Owen Mitchell added 15 for Potsdam. Mark Horne paced Gouverneur (4-14, 3-9) with 12 points.

MALONE 96, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 21

The Huskies built a 50-8 halftime lead in a nonleague win over Brushton-Moira (7-10) in Malone.

Nate Monette led Malone (17-1) with 21 points. Connor Dailey scored 19 for Malone. Kody Mulverhill scored 13, Mitch Gallagher 11 and Austin Lamay added 10 for Malone.
