Reopen Ogdensburg Cinemas

To The Editor:

As a result of the Ogdensburg Cinema shutting down this past summer, and as a result of a recent newspaper article about the cinema possibly reopening, many citizens of Ogdensburg, young and old, have simply wanted it to reopen.

It was the only cinema Ogdensburg had, and without it, there’s very little out-of-school activities such as this for kids. The cinema has movies for kids, and others for adults. Younger kids love movies such as Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and other kids’ movies which are displayed there. At home these children may not have an opportunity to do this type of activity.

On top of that, the cinema also offers great snacks to make your movie even better. Brilliant snacks such as popcorn, gummy worms, Hot Tamales, and many more different snacks are a favorite of young and old children, enhancing their movie. The cinema can also offer snack-packs for children, which contain a drink, popcorn and a Twizzler, all in one small pack, making it very easy to carry.

Some elementary schools also have field trips every now and then to the cinema, allowing their students to watch a movie. Those schools cannot do this anymore with the cinema closed.

Along with many citizens of Ogdensburg, I encourage the government to grant what the cinema request so they may reopen.
